Populaire Series / Rouleur Award

Raleigh Region Populaires / Rouleur Award Rides:  2024

The Rouleur Award is a calendar year award that requires a RUSA member to complete five events:

  • a Populaire of 125-149 kms.
  • a Populaire of 150-199 kms.
  • a Dart-Populaire (120 kms team event).

Anyone completing all five events in the same calendar year earns the Rouleur Award and is entitled to the Patch shown immediately below.

A Permanent-Populaire is a route / ride that is a Permanent of 100-199 kms
Although Permanent-Populaires count towards attaining many RUSA awards such as the RUSA P-12 Award, RUSA annual distance awards, and RUSA lifetime distance awards, Perm-Pops do NOT count toward the Rouleur Award.

To ride in these events:
  • you must be a current RUSA member,
  • you must sign and turn-in the waiver before the ride,
  • you must pay the event entry fee before the ride.

Raleigh Region Populaires / Rouleur Award Rides:

The Raleigh Region is putting on the Brevet-Populaires needed to qualify one for the new-ish Rouleur Award (designed to help new members transition to longer rides and brevet protocols (and also help veteran members returning to riding rando)).

[It is also likely that the requisite Brevet-Populaires, a Dart-Populaire, and a RUSA 200-220 km Brevet will be added to the schedule for the Summer/Autumn/Winter months.]:

Note that one must be a RUSA member to participate in any of these rides (click here to check your membership status or join/re-join RUSA).

Also note that these rides are self-supported -- do NOT expect volunteers on the course

  • The fee for each of the rides noted above will be $5 and must be paid BEFORE the ride starts
    • Unless otherwise instructed or arranged, riders will print their own liability waivers which must be turned in to the ride organizer BEFORE the ride starts.
    • Brevet/control cards and cue sheets will be made available either at the start or via email to the NC-rando-list-serve (in which case the rider(s) can print their own.  [Note:  the signed / completed brevet-control card must be turned in to the ride organizer after the ride.]
